BIO
JOE ZITO is a creative professional with over 25 years experience in film and television.
Joe began his career in film as a production assistant. From 1991 to 1997 he was a boom operator on more than 30 feature films which include: Journey to The Sun - Winner Blue Ribbon Peace Prize Berlin Film Festival; Two Girls and a Guy - Director James Tobak starring Robert Downey Jr. & Heather Graham; Tromeo and Juliet (Troma Company) - Director Lloyd Kaufman.
In 1998 Joe moved into post production and began working for Moving Images as an online editor (Henry and Smoke artist) working on commercials, shorts, music videos and feature films. Some of his post production online credits at Moving Images include commercials for ESPN, Burger King, McDonalds, Coke, Jordan Brand, Playstation 2, Ford Motor Company, New York Stock Exchange and X-Games. He has worked on music videos for such artists as Sum 41, Ben Folds Five, Ricky Martin, Dixie Chicks and Green Day. Some on his feature work includes Bamboozled - Director Spike Lee, Brooklyn Lobster starring Danny Aiello, Junebug starring Amy Adams, Twelve Disciples of Nelson Mandela - Director Thomas Allen Harris, Deadline - Directors Katy Chevigny & Kirsten Johnson, Nursery University - Director Marc H. Simon and Speak (Showtime Network) starring Kristen Stewart. During this time, Joe began offline editing for such clients as, Visa, NFL, ESPN, A&E, A&E International, History Channel and the Biography Channel.
In 2008, Joe formed 90th Street Productions where he works as a creative editor and producer. Some of his producing credits include work for MLB, Mercedes Benz, McDonalds and A&E. He has edited countless commercials and promos for A&E, Visa, History Channel, Syfy, Discovery and Nickelodeon, and has edited full shows and segments for CBS Sports, NFL, Sony Pictures, Sesame Street and most recently for the Paramount + documentary series The Billion Dollar Goal and Pulisic.
Joe co-wrote, edited and directed the shorts Mrs. J's Cafe and TURF. He produced, directed and edited the short documentary True Stories by Joe, His most recent short film is titled Surf'em Up which he produced, directed, wrote, edited and scored. To date, he has written two TV pilots, three short films, four feature length screenplays, two children’s books and many songs. Two of his screenplays have been named as semi-finalists in the Flicker's Rhode Island International Film Festival as well as semi and quarter finalists in the Big Apple Film Festival and Screenplay competition.
